Yes, you can. An event title and summary description is required in order to create an event, but you can hide it if you don't like the way it looks or if it's interfering with your image.
Simply click Setup in the top menu and toggle the Title and Summary options from Visible to Hidden.
When you view your event page live, those text fields will now be hidden from attendees. However, you will still be able to see them on your My Events page for administrative purposes.
